ABOUT
The summer school  “Identity, democracy and power” is carried out within the framework of the project “Jean Monnet Network European Identity, Culture, Exchanges and Multilingualism (EUROMEC) 553397-EPP-1-2014-1-BG-EPPJMO-NETWORK. The Jean Monnet Network brings together Jean Monnet Chairs in the area of European identity, Culture, European citizenship, Exchanges and Multilingualism. The core target group of the Network are young researchers (doctorate students, potential doctorate students and young researchers who have obtained a PhD degree in the past 5 years). Their profile is not limited to EU Studies.

PROGRAMME
The programme is designed for very good MA students and Phd students, and will consist of lectures, seminars, workshops and group research projects as well as tailor-made feedback sessions during which students will discuss their theses. The detailed programme will be announced in a short time.

PARTICIPANTS PRESENTATIONS
Special emphasis will be given to the advancement of the participants’ projects. Each participant will give a short presentation on a chosen topic related to the subject of his/her thesis which will be then discussed with other participants and lecturers.

CERTIFICATE OF ATTENDANCE
To complete the summer school, the participants have to:
• Actively participate in all seminars, lectures and workshops of the summer school;
• Prepare a presentation based on the abstract sent during the application process.
Having successfully completed the course, all participants will receive a Certificate of Attendance and ECTS credits.

WHO CAN APPLY?
Advanced MA and PhD students who work in the field of European Identity, Culture, Exchanges and Multilingualism. Good knowledge of English is essential. The required level of English: minimum B2 (please refer to: Self-Assessment Grid)

HOW TO APPLY?
Due to the limited places, the participants will be chosen on the basis of the application.

The deadline to submit the application is Sunday, 25th June 2015, 23:30 CEST. Selected applicants will be informed about the selection results by the end of June and will be asked to submit an abstract (of approximately 1000 words ). Each student will be requested to develop his/her abstract in a form of a presentation. Each of the presentation will be peer reviewed and will be commented by two discussants (chosen in advance from among the summer school participants) during the session, with an academic staff members as moderators.

FEES:
Registration fee is 50 euro (around 220 PLN) and covers materials, welcome and farewell dinner, entrances to the museum etc.
SCHOLRASHIPS: Travel (up to 250 euro), accommodation, the academic programme and half board will be provided to selected participants from EUROMEC consortium.
For the CEEPUS scholarship holders: Accommodation and half board cost is 230 euro (around 980 PLN).
For participants from outside of the consortium the fee is 400 euro (covers accommodation, the academic programme and half board).
